Tree Planting in the Bush ...Beautiful all round !

Landholders work with tree planting groups to address land management and improvement in innovative ways. Volunteers give their time, energy and resources free of charge to see land managed and improved in ways that benefit the maximum number of species, including rural communities whose environment and long term sustainability prospects benefit from the betterment of habitat.

Innovative landusers are seeing benefits that put them ahead of conventional methods of land use and protect their valuable natural assets.

MAY 2006 - Capertee Tree Planting
The weekend was voted a great success with keen volunteers arriving early to lay out the trees at two seperate properties on Friday. Saturday's planting proved hard going in many places with limestone, degraded dry earth and thistles to be dealt with, but the teams of workers were made of stern stuff and stuck it out. The planting was declared finished at 4:30pm with daylight to spare and only some watering in to be done on the Sunday. The dinner put on by the capable Capertee P&C was a treat. These community events always prove entertaining, and judging by the volume of conversation and satisfied faces post meal, this was another champion occasion!
